In Greece, in the beautiful city of Thessaloniki, we celebrate youth! How? In the context of the ‘Youth-R.E.C.’ project, co-funded by the European Union’s Erasmus+ programme. The project aims to give young people a powerful tool to make their voice heard on social issues relevant to them: filmmaking!
At the end of a series of workshops, the young participants made short films, which were first shown at local festivals (in Italy, Spain, Austria, Bulgaria, Romania and Ireland) in front of an audience of local citizens, and then landed in the sunny Greek land, on September 24th, to be shown to a wider, international audience! In fact, the best short films from each country had the opportunity to compete for the title of ‘young people’s favourite film’, a victory that was conquered by the Austrian group with the film ‘Deadly Love’!
Also present at the event were experts in the world of filmmaking, who had the opportunity to share their experiences regarding the careers of directors, actors and producers, and answered questions and queries from the young people in the room.
The project is now coming to an end, in October, and it was a real honour for the whole consortium to participate in such a valuable and important initiative for young people.
The project continues to provide news and excitement, so follow the social pages!
