Learning on Storytelling, graphic design and filmmaking in Dublin

In the context of the Erasmus+ KA2 project Youth REC, a four-day training session took place in Dublin, hosted by the Irish partner I&F, from the 19th to the 22nd of June. This training was attended by two youth workers from each partner country among Italy, Spain, Romania, Bulgaria, Austria, Ireland and Greece.

Each day of the training was dedicated to a specific methodology employed in the project, namely storytelling, graphic design, and filmmaking. The host, I&F, meticulously organized a remarkable schedule that included intensive morning training sessions focusing on the topic of the day, as well as city tours and cultural visits related to the respective topics.

During the initial two days, two external experts were invited to share their knowledge and provide tools on the subjects of storytelling and filmmaking. On the third day, the training session was conducted by the coordinator, CEIPES’ graphic designer, who delivered a practical session on graphic design. This session aimed to teach the participants how to create a visual identity and introduced them to the most effective free online tools available.

On the final day, the participants dedicated their efforts to evaluating, debriefing, and applying the knowledge they had acquired during the workshop. The objective was to enhance the content with specific elements. The attending youth workers will have the responsibility of conducting six local workshops from September addressed to young people. These workshops apply these methodologies as tools for civic engagement and youth’s self-expression. The young participants in these local training sessions will also have the opportunity to share their message by creating their own stories, producing their films, and developing related visual identities. Their work will be showcased in both local and international film festivals.
